Review: The Grove, Chandlers Cross Hertfordshire

The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire is my favourite hotel, I love the place.

If I could move in, I would.

Probably around 5 years ago we discovered The Grove and we try to go back twice a year if we can.

Once home to royalty it's easy to imagine why you feel a bit special when you go to stay there.

We stayed there on Saturday night. It was a belated Valentines Day break.

The things I love about The Grove are that it's not too far from where we live, it's set in acres of beautiful countryside, it's relaxed and informal but still luxury and indulgent.

They have an amazing spa, Sequoia, which has everything you'd expect from a spa and more, including an large black bottomed swimming pool. We spent Sunday afternoon in the spa, hopping from lounger to pool, from jacuzzi to steam room and back. We left feeling relaxed and revitalised.

They also have an outdoor pool which is set within a large walled garden and great in the summer months.

The rooms are stunning; try and stay in one of the individually designed Mansion rooms if you can and ask for one overlooking the grounds. They supply everything you would need for an overnight stay; A good hair dryer and hair straighteners, lovely toiletries by The White Company, magazines and a fully stocked mini bar.

All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and have modern furniture mixed with antique finds. They
feature spacious bathrooms with roll tops baths, double sinks and a large shower.
Fluffy towels, robes and slippers come as standard :)

The rubber ducks belong to me :). They were from http://www.tigerstores.co.uk/

I especially love just relaxing and chilling out, watching movies from the giant and unbelievably comfortable beds, drinking champagne and ordering room service.

If you can bear to leave the room there's loads to keep you occupied. How about an award winning golf course? Or going bike riding, walking or jogging along numerous trails.

The Grove have 3 restaurants on site too and numerous lounge area's serving delicious afternoon tea.

I want to go back there now...
